Workshop Description

Engineering & Gameplay Recommended Ages 7–12 Can you build the ultimate mini basketball game? We'll design, build and play our own mini arcade game, each design will be unique. LET'S WONDER How can we launch the ball further? What makes a shot more accurate? How does the launcher make the ball move? Discuss potential and kinetic energy. LET'S CREATE Using cardboard, recycled and craft materials and simple mechanisms, we'll build our own working basketball arcade game. LET'S TEST We'll test our launchers, adjust the angles and improve our designs before putting our games to the ultimate challenge. LET'S EXPLORE We'll investigate: Levers Elastic energy Accuracy Angles Design improvements LET'S REFLECT We'll play each other's games, celebrate clever ideas and take home our own mini arcade challenge.
